Androgyny Fashion Week is a multinational fashion festival featuring local and small niche designers and hopes to positively change the perception of genderqueer, androgynous and gender non-conforming models in fashion media. The nonprofit currently has 30 employees and a network of over 300 agents, and as of 2021, has made no revenue.

AFW was founded in Dallas, TX in 2021, by androgynous queer fashion creative and public relations professional, Mikey J. De Guzman with the aid of DFW queer media photographer Maia Tharp and Tulsa local aesthetic photographer Jewel Thompson.

Androgyny Fashion Week’s primary goal is to increase the representation of LGBT+ and genderqueer models in fashion communities such as high-fashion, editorial and thrift/vintage. Additionally, AFW looks to integrate local communities together by designing a show that collaborates with local designers, models, and musicians while also giving them greater exposure.

So what's up?

As of April 10th, AFW held its first model casting and designer submissions with over 20 genderqueer and nonbinary models and nearly 12 queer sustainable fashion brands. Additionally, over 20 queer musicians, artists and business will be present.
