I think it is without a doubt, absolute certainty that social media is the strongest tool of PR. Not only for PR professionals but for any brand, company, startup, etc of the modern era. Social media is how a brand is able to communicate daily with its consumers and audiences.
If you still don't understand the magnitude and importance of social media, give this a READ!
I believe when creating a campaign, it is important to remember the following:
your market audience (what they like, what they don't, what you need to change to reach them better)
the "Why" (why did is this campaign necessary? is there a new product rollout?)
the people (models, influencers --- who is the face of your brand for this amount of time)

when designing for social media, I think it is vital to make sure you know what audiences you are reaching on your platform. Furthermore, it is also important to make sure that these posts align with the brand culture, the overall feed aesthetic. This means using captions within the same slang. Using the right filters and coloration so that the feed is aesthetically pleasing and on brand.
A major tool I use with social media is the Instagram Analytics. I think this tool allows people to see how active their audiences are and what kind of people a brand is reaching.
A very important tool for PR professional is Canva. To me, Canva is like Photoshop with training wheels. It's a graphic design tool that has templates and formats of various designs and allows you to create new graphics with different textures, stickers, and your own images. It can be a bit restrictive but its a simple way for PR professionals to design and create mock posts.
